p178 [From the French.] BELOVED BROTHER, - I am much better through the goodness of God. There is a change in me at the end of this nearness of death, not in doctrine, not in my views. In all that nothing is changed, all is confirmed: it is a sweet thought that all that I have taught has been of God. But I have much more deeply the consciousness of belonging to another world. I had it indeed already by faith, but I have the feeling of being of it. I do not know when He will take me, and up to this moment I am doing as always, what my strength allows. To watch and pray is necessary as in the past, but what the beloved Saviour has said is beyond it, "They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world"; and from whence was He? In this respect there is a sensible change - and I wait.
