Julian's account of S.T. Francis:
Samuel Trevor Francis, son of an artist, was born at Cheshunt, Herts. in 1835, and was a merchant in London. He wrote numerous hymns, which have been printed in various religious newspapers and periodicals during the past 30 years. Some of his hymns were included in the Enlarged London Hymn Book, 1873. Mr Francis published Gems from the Revised Version with Poems in 1891.
Francis' hymn in 'Spiritual Songs' is No. 458, "Now around Thee, Lord, we meet, Sitting lowly at Thy feet", a hymn suitable for the remembrance of the Lord at the breaking of bread. This hymn is not included in the 1856, 1881 and 1903 editions of the Little Flock Hymn Book, but it is included in the 1894, 1928 and 1978 editions.
