The hymn by Mrs. Gertrude Helyar, "O Lord and Saviour, we recline On that eternal love of Thine" appeared in the "Christian Friend and Instructor" for September 1899, a monthly magazine edited by Mr. Edward Dennett. It afterwards found a place in the 1903 edition of the Little Flock Hymn Book.
This beautiful hymn (no. 363 in the 1978 'Spiritual Songs') is often sung at prayer meetings and in times of pressure and bereavement. When all human resource has proved unavailing, how precious to turn to the One who is always available. "He remains".
